Lenders were extremely lax in their underwriting provisions and extended credit in haphazard and undisciplined manners Borrowers took advantage of lenient credit assessments and maximized their buying power through the use of adjustable rate mortgages without consideration or concern for future increases in their mortgage rate which might render them incapable of making their mortgage payments
6	Available Investment Options Purchase defaulted and underperforming notes from lenders in bulk at a substantial discount Acquire multi-family housing projects (both government subsidized and conventional) Provide short-term financing for the acquisition and/or rehabilitation of commercial and residential housing projects Acquire additional real estate related businesses to facilitate the investment process
